With the aid of the Clay County Sheriff Department, members of the Twin Lakes Homes Association installed the first of several “watch” signs at neighborhood entrances to the subdivision on April 1, 2011.
A well-organized network of block captains have been appointed to cover each section of the Association. In addition to block captains, several homes in the area will be designated “safe houses” for children in case of emergencies.
Twin Lakes Estates, situated near 136th Street and Plattsburg Road, was developed in the late 1980s. The homeowners have an active board of directors who focus on neighborhood safety and social activities.
